Diagnosis Pleural Mesothelioma

Diagnosis Pleural Mesothelioma is a cancer affecting the membrane lining of the lungs, abdomen, and in rare cases the heart. It is a cancer that is not very common, and is almost always caused due to asbestos inhalation or ingestion.

Pleural mesothelioma affects the pleura (lining surrounding the lungs). Over 80% of diagnosed mesothelioma is pleural mesothelioma, making it the most common type of mesothelioma.
The only known and confirmed cause of diagnosis mesothelioma is asbestos exposure. It could happen when a person inhales / ingests microscopic asbestos fibers.

These asbestos fibers cause healthy body cells to mutate into cancer over a period of time.
